Reading the guide books we decided that the best time to cycle the Iberian Peninsula was during spring, when the weather is mild and the roads not too busy with tourists. So in early March we arrived in Lisbon, the start of a three-month trip which would see us cycling through Portugal, Spain and the French Pyrenees.
